Week of March 16

Hello Families,

Boy, what a surprising turn of events in one week's time.

I'd like to thank parents and volunteers Sheri Baker, Cheryl Thompson, Kelly Gaver, Cindy Igoe, and many others who were at school to help the staff navigate all of the expectations on Friday. I was so grateful for the extra hands and help!

If your child was absent on Friday, you may pick up their instructional materials and Chromebooks from the Brown School office Monday - Wednesday from 8 - 4 p.m. this week.

I will be posting suggested things to work on by Wednesday mornings throughout the 3 week break. These are not mandatory assignments and will not be graded, however it is highly recommended that students take time to work on academics in order to keep things fresh for when we return.

Mrs. Nimtz and I will be working together, as well as collaborating with the district's other fourth grade teachers, to publish expectations each week. The students were reminded of the care/use agreements in place for their Chromebooks. These are property of SJPS and are meant as learning tools, not gaming devices. I'm sure they will take great care of them during this time at home.

I'm sure our superintendent, Dr. Bruce, as well as Mrs. Bawks, will be sending emails out whenever new information develops at the district level. In the meantime, please have your students check Google Classroom each Wednesday for that week's suggested work. As always, reading for pleasure is one of the most important things your students can do.

Stay safe,

Mrs. Hassenger
